Back with an apology and bang

I took a sabbatic , a long one almost a year. My sister came to visit me last year and because I had to take her places, I stopped writing for a while and then as you know, one gets lazy. Thought of rewriting but something or the other happened and so I left it at that.

Why now then? Various reasons, one being my son got engaged  and is getting married a week from now. A big load off my head. Don't get me wrong. I am not one of those moms who keep pestering their children to get married but in this case, he had crossed the normal age for getting married long ago and I wanted him settled in life.

Two, I went for an award function last night. The event was held mainly to facilitate the team of Adhe Adhure, a play by renowned hindi playwright late Mohan Rakesh. The play was staged last year by Hindi Writers Guild which I am a member of. Yes I do write in hindi also. It was a sold out show for all three days. The team was so hardworking and creative, we all felt saddened at the end of third show. But last night, the team met again and the energy was palpable. It was as if we had never left.

Third, my younger son, an actor who has been acting in short films so far, finally completed his first feature film. It has been eight long years of his struggle and growth as an as an actor and I am proud of him, not just as a mother but also as an actor and a mentor. He started as my substitute on my radio show when I went to India and by the time I came back, he had his own fan following. It is because of him that the younger generation became my listeners.

I wanted to share all this with you readers. They say happiness becomes double by sharing. And in any case I have this blocked of not being able to share my grief with anyone. But happiness? By all means. So here I am with a load of good news, so bang and an apology for being absent. But I promise you, no more procrastination. You will read me daily. I pray for everyone to get good news in their life
