“ The fault is not in stars but us” –Shakespeare
Yesterday someone wrote a comment on my blog, what do I know
of misery and frustration. I smiled when I read it. Who, in this world, has not
seen frustration? Who has not been down in the abysmal pit of depression and
misery? Who here has not experienced betrayal at the hands of our dear ones?
The comment further said that it is our destiny and whatever
is written will happen. I am, myself an astrologer and I know that our future
is largely fore written. But I also know that how we act in the face of
adversity creates our life path for us. If we react, we increase our misery. If
we respond, we get better insights to come out of that misery. I am saying this
with experience.
I have had my fair share of hardships and as I studied
astrology, I found that it was bound to happen. But I always had inner faith
that these days will not last and that I shall have good days. I prayed, I
meditated and I told myself, ‘this too shall pass’. I cannot say that it was easy
but come to think of it, what choice do we have? Either bear the pain with a
grin or make yourself so bitter that people avoid you like plague.
As one of my teachers in astrology class always said, ‘ the
stars only impel you, they don’t compel you’. So to blame the stars we show our
own weakness. When we do not want to take responsibility of our decisions or
actions, we blame the stars because it is the easiest thing to do. We choose
the easy path most of the time. As Yamraj says to Nachiketa in Kathopnishad,
there are two paths. The path of righteousness and the path of pleasantness. If
you always choose the pleasant path, you will always have starts to blame. But
of you take ownership of your actions, you will find that stars are shining on
you.
To rise like a phoenix is what human beings are capable of.
The choice is yours. To blame the stars or to make your own destiny by doing
the right thing.
So be it!!!
