“ Action should culminate in wisdom’ Bhagwat Geeta
How often have you followed a motivational program and did
everything they asked you to do and still did not succeed? We all go through
the cycles of goal setting, action plan and implementation process with great
vigour for a few days and then it fizzles out and we are back to square one.
Ever thought why? Not because your lack of continuous effort.
That, of course, is a reason but there are other factors involved. It is
internalizing the concept. It is becoming a better person, rising above where
you are in wisdom that we lack. It getting that mind set which will always help
you to be successful in whatever you do.
If you become too engrossed in your work and your family
life suffers, is that goal worth achieving? Ah, I see the argument coming, ‘but
I am doing it for the family’. No, you are doing it for your ego satisfaction.
Taking your child to the park or playing with them at home will create far
sweeter memories in their mind. Not only that they will have an ideal role
model of a parent.
We were a middle class family and did not have very
expensive vacations. But my dad would play Lido with us, he would play holi with
us and my mum would even make half parantha for us. So when I grew up, I would
do the same with my kids. Any action that we take should be with the thought,
how is it going to make me a better person? If we ask ourselves that question,
we will make fewer mistakes and our life will be more fulfilling.
So be it!!!
