‘One day or day one. You decide’
Yesterday our friend and a powerful speaker Rakesh Mishra
asked me if had published a book. I replied no but I am thinking about it. He
said something very relevant. He said if not now when?
There is lot of sense in what he said. So many times we have
a dream that one day we would do this or that. But we get bogged down with
mundane things of life that we forget our bucket list. We forget that we have
the potential to do what we want. Often, it is fear that stops us. Fear of
ridicule by our family or friends, fear of failure and most important, fear of
not being able to face oneself if we fail.
Last year, I started writing a play. I wont tell you the
story line but I can say with confidence that it’s a powerful story and quite
unique. I am almost half way through it. But, I have not written anything for
the last six months. Why? Mundane things took over. Na!!! Its just procrastination
on my part. One day!!!
Which one-day? That which never comes? Or day one today?
This day one can change our life if we think about it. This day one, you can
clean your garage, weed out your garden, make that phone call to your estranged
family or a friend, can start writing that book you always dreamed of.
This one day you can start studying for your exam, can start
mending your relationships by putting in more effort, can start listening more
and talking less, can meditate or go for that walk. This one-day you can walk
put of a toxic relationship, can cut negativity off. As for me, I will restart
my play.
This one day you can turn your life around. Take action
today, one day and a year from now you will see the difference.
So be it!!!
