Living in the shadow

 Living in the shadow

A famous actor’s son once commented, no matter how successful you are, you  see your father and reality hits you. Living in the shadow of his father, he accepted it gracefully.

But is life meant to be lived in the shadow? Ofcourse not. Life is too precious to be thrown away because you have a celebrity parent. Yes you will be compared if you try to enter the same field, no matter how talented or sincere you are. You will be judged more harshly than any body whose parents are not famous. Each move of yours will scrutinized. But then that is the hazard of being a celebrity’s child.

Life brings with it both sunshine and shadows, highs and lows, agony and ecstasy. So we have to adjust and we should . However facing the shadows as part of life and living life in the shadow of self pity is our choice. They say if life gives you lemons, make a lemonade out of it. I say make a lemonade and pickle the lemon peels to get full value of life. It’s our one chance on this earth now, at present. I recently met one of my school friends. She was a vivacious girl, always full of energy and enthusiasm in school. When I met her now  she was a shadow of her former self. Depressed, listless, totally disinterested in life. I felt sad and angry. Sad because she is my friend and angry because she allowed the shadows take over her life. I know many of you are going to say, we don’t know what her circumstances were but no matter what, I hate to see a human life go waste by letting shadows overcome your zest for life.

I am not judging anyone , on the other hand, just requesting everyone to strive for sunshine and dispose the shadows. For that, a support club is very important. I have talked about that in my blog earlier this week.

So let’s ourselves come out in the sunshine and help others do it too.

So be it !!!
