I was just going through my books the other day and found Harry Potter books. I am a big fan of Harry Potter. I have read each book twice over and have seen all the movies too. Why I like them so much is a matter of another blog. So I started reading again the first book. Alohomora is a charm  Harmoine , one of the principal character, uses to open a lock. No need for a key. How convenient. 

How I wish our luck could be opened with such a charm. Don’t you think so? Imagine the doors of all the opportunities opening up for you, passing all exams without studying for them, finding your soulmate, money coming in abundance and being famous. What a scenario !!! How happy we would be. We won’t be envious of people who seem to have it all, money, fame, power and excellent relationships. 

Really? Will we be happy getting all this without any hard work? No setbacks, no heart break, no regrets and no pain? No feeling of pride when we achieve our goal after facing hardships and challenges, suffering and endurance, pain and frustration but still carrying on. Then the moment when your dreams come through and you soar high. 

All this will be lost. The depth of emotions we feel after having worked hard despite all difficulties will be absent. They say you don’t value the thing which comes easily. Very true. It’s not precious for you, you don’t really treasure it and so you lose it quickly. It is only when we toil and sweat it out and then achieve, we really are proud of ourselves. No Alohomora can do that for us. We really cherish that success. A little luck will come in handy though.
