Writer’s Block

 Writer’s Block

I write my blog first thing in the morning while drinking my warm water. I find it convenient to write before I start my daily chores. The mind is rested and it’s easier to write. Normally I think of an idea for my blog before I go to sleep. A short video about philosophy, psychology or life, a quote or a story I read and sometimes just a thought that comes become the basis of my blog. My reader’s feedback is also a source of my writing.

A friend of mine asked me if I don’t get stuck. Usually not. Sometimes however, I do but in a different way. There are too many ideas and I find it difficult to choose. Ha ha. As my husband says I am an idea person. Coming from him I take it as a compliment. He is a published author having written five books. I first read my blog to him to get his opinion and like a dutiful husband he always says it’s good. After all he has to stay in the house isn’t it? Jokes apart his feedback matters to me because it’s honest. Any changes that he suggests make my blog better in structure. Thank you hubby.

About writer’s block. Gulzar, the famous writer whose poetry has mesmerized many of us sits every morning on his desk and writes. As he says if you make it a habit, ideas automatically come because your brain is conditioned to write in that time period. That is what I do.

My poems are a different game though. I usually get the inspiration for my poems late at night. You see , I am a night owl, I sleep late and in that peace and quiet of night, my poems come to me.

Why am I telling you all this? Because today was the day of my writer’s block but I sat down and started writing about myself. Bear my indulgence please.

What inspires you in your daily routine? Do share.

Be safe and happy.

So be it !!!
