Respond not react
In response to my blog yesterday, my friend Nilia wrote that we should respond to the situations and people rather than react. How right she is. But how difficult it is to do so.
Two hours after reading her comment, I got into a situation. Not wanting to react, I composed my self and walked away. I went to get my manicure. When I reached the salon, there were two girls ahead of me waiting. So I sat down. Three ladies came in after and two of them left seeing the rush. Still waiting , I picked up a magazine and started reading. Ten minutes later, I picked up my head from my magazine and saw the lady who had come in after me, was getting her manicure. And I knew she didn't have an appointment. Another situation!!! So very calmly, I asked how long is it going to take. He said forty five minutes. Now I lost it so I picked up my bag and walked out fuming.
As I sat down in the car, I just remembered what Nilia had said. I smiled, took three deep breaths and blessed the salon owner. Then I came home and took a salt bath. Immediately i felt better.
This blessing and salt bath were something I learned from another friend Reena. One of the calmest people I know, she gave me this guru mantra. Any time a person upsets you, be it anybody, find a quiet spot or just take deep breaths and bless that person. You feel better immediately . Believe me it works !!!
By blessing that person, you are releasing yourself of that negative energy building inside you. So you are setting yourself free. It's very difficult in the beginning but you will find that it calms you down.
Salt takes away all the negative energy. It cleanses you. Sp have a bath with some Epsom salts. If you can't then just take a normal shower and at the end, take a handful of normal salt and rub it all over your body and tell yourself that you are washing all the negative energy with this salt.
Next time the person who overtakes you on road from wrong some, the person who jumps over you in the line, the cashier who is rude to you , anybody, just bless them. Your mental comfort is more important than them. Don't give them the power to upset you. It is you who control your happiness.
Be happy
So be it !!!
