Started watching Chandragupta Maurya last night and ten minutes into watching it got upset. Why? Because of language, no, no profanity but it's a period show depicting 326 BC or around and the characters were using Urdu words like ghulam and zindagi. I love Urdu, in fact I write poetry in Urdu. But using it in a show which is before its origin?
I told my husband that producers of the show must watch for authenticity and diction. Maharana Pratap had the same problem. So what's the big deal he said. At Least people are enjoying the show. And then he said something which struck me.
He said either you go to Mumbai and start teaching language and diction or keep quite and watch the show. He said 'either create your own ballpark or keep playing in somebody else's'.
Isn't I this the story of our life? We keep cribbing about how our life should be? We love to hate our boss who, in turn, hates his boss, we complain about the promotion that went to somebody else and we complain about how stress is killing us.
But can all of us leave our jobs and start our own enterprise? If you have the will and capacity to take risk, yes. If not then change something in your environment which gives you more satisfaction. Simple things like changing your computer wall paper or going on a surprise date with your spouse, having a Pyjama party with your kids, camping in your backyard, anything.
Go ahead, do it, create your own ballpark in someway
So be it!!!
