Is life an oxymoron?
Bittersweet, deafening silence, random order, old news, they are all oxymorons. As we all know oxymorons are two seemingly contradictory words to form an often thought provoking concept or idea. But why am I talking about life being an oxymoron?
Don’t we find ourselves in situations where we get stuck but are still moving on? In the midst of a party, we suddenly want to get away. While passionately arguing about something, we burst out laughing because the other person just made a face or a gesture. Standing in a funeral, a pleasant song comes to our mind and we start humming it. So many couples are alone together, there is no communication. A friend’s personal situation is a known secret. We are asked to act naturally in a job interview. After every office meeting or a presentation we are asked to file a detailed summary.
On a deeper level too, life poses contradictory choices and expects us to create controlled chaos. Often we hear there is a method to my madness. It’s particularly true in my case. I work in a way anyone else would think is disorganized. There will be three dishes simultaneously being prepared in my kitchen. All of them at different stages of chopping, frying and roasting and me flitting from taking out condiments from one cabinet, vegetables from fridge and stirring a stew. To anyone watching , it’s chaos. But it’s my controlled chaos.
What is your controlled chaos? How do you deal with oxymorons of life? Do share your thoughts.
Go and be seriously funny.
So be it !!!
