Life as we want it

When I decided to start my blog, I thought of many titles. I wanted a title, which conveyed my reason to write this blog. I also wanted it to reflect my thoughts and be unique. My husband suggested that I start it in my name. But that would be obvious and I didn’t want that.

As I am getting older, I find that my perspective to look at things is changing. Things that were once a matter of life and death, i.e., proving myself to be right when I knew I was or argue till the cows came home are not that important now. I can laugh and not prove myself or just smile even and let the other person win an argument. And I find it keeps me happy and more peaceful.

Life as we want it has a question mark at the end. Why? Because we always expect life to go as we want it, but does it ever happen? How many times we have faced the disappointment of things going awry at the last moment despite all the planning and preparation? How many times people have betrayed us when we trusted them, how many times the promotion went to someone less deserving and how many times our heart was broken?

How many times we didn’t get that coveted position or piece of jewellery and how many nights we kept awake because of our teenagers? The list is endless. That is why the question mark. Life as we want it or life as we accept it?

As I always say, the choice is ours to make. Life is a bumpy ride, and believe me, if it becomes too smooth, we would die of boredom. The bumps make us appreciate the smooth curves and the lows make us thank for the highs. Take life as it comes and think that this is what you want. You will be happy
