‘Tempt not a desperate man’ – Shakespeare

Isn’t it? Don’t drive a cat against the wall. We have listened to these adages quite often. And I do agree that a desperate man can, sometimes, go to the extent of committing a crime. Very often than not petty crimes are committed because someone was desperate.

But I think, there is a big opportunity in tempting a desperate man. Only a desperate man will take risk because he has nothing at stake. Think about it. We all know many rags to riches stories where someone badly desperate risked everything they had and made big.

One can only go up after touching rock bottom. Isn’t it? What goes up comes down and what is down will come up. A man who has lost almost everything can have the courage and motivation to do anything with the remotest chance of success. Many drug addicts have recovered because they were desperate to bring their life on track after years of emotional, mental and physical wreckage.

Tempt a desperate man with dreams of a life full of comforts and happy relationship and see what they will do. But the temptation has to be positive and constructive. They say its darkest before the dawn and there is light at the end of tunnel. So if we know that our darkest hour is going to usher in an era of joy and stability, won’t we do everything possible? Why? Because, we are desperate. Our failures teach us more and motivate us more than our success. My friend Rummy shared a similar thought on her Facebook page today and I agree.

When you face a failure and you are desperate, only then you will give more than hundred percent to succeed. So next time you are about to give up, think of how desperate you are and tempt yourself.

So be it!!!
